2025 Wedding Trend: Hiring a Professional Content Creator

Wedding Resources

According to our recent story on Summer 2025 Wedding Trends, wedding planners across the country have noticed an increase in couples that hire a dedicated content creator (in addition to a standard photographer and videographer) to capture their special day. To learn more about this social savvy trend, we interviewed three professional wedding content creators about how they got into the business, their creative process, client expectations, and more.

How did you get into wedding content creation?

Cupid Content Co.

I started Cupid Content Co. in 2023 after getting married myself. While I had an amazing photographer and videographer, I remember waking up the next day feeling like there was this huge gap—no iPhone footage, no behind-the-scenes moments, and nothing candid to instantly relive the day. I was texting my guests asking for whatever content they had, then sorting through blurry videos and bad angles. That experience sparked something in me. As a former bride and lifestyle content creator, I realized there was a real need for someone to capture weddings in a raw, organic, and instantly accessible way. Now, with a team by my side, I get to document wedding days in the way I wish I had—candidly and in real time.

The Social Club

I was working at a social media agency a few years ago, and most of our clients were in the wedding industry. I was asked to shoot some BTS content for a couple of weddings—first in Vegas, then Tulum—and I immediately loved it. I instantly fell in love with capturing content on a wedding day and being able to document those memories and replay them in such a raw, honest way. It felt natural to me, and I knew I wanted to keep going but in my own way.

The Girl’s Girl Content Co.

In August 2023, my husband was a groomsman in a friend’s wedding at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, where we noticed a vendor filming everything on an iPhone. The next day, we learned she was a wedding content creator—a role I’d never heard of, despite my background in content creation. A friend with an upcoming wedding turned to me and said, “Alexis, I think you’d be amazing at this. Why don’t you try it at our wedding?”

I immediately started researching, and by December, she had gifted me my first phone stabilizer and trusted me with full creative freedom to capture her wedding. The wedding was beautiful, and afterward, we brainstormed brand names and launched our Instagram. That’s how The Girl’s Girl Content Co. was born—and now, we’re headed to Italy next month!

Are your clients mainly influencers/celebrities/creators, or are you finding that ‘regular,’ everyday couples are hiring wedding content creators too?

Cupid Content Co.

When I first started, a lot of people assumed content creators were only for influencers or social media-savvy couples. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. We work with people from all walks of life—couples who simply want to remember their day in a way that feels real and emotionally honest. While some of our clients are public figures or creators, the majority are just everyday couples who want to be present, unplugged, and know that every special moment is being captured on their behalf.

The Social Club

It’s definitely a mix! I’ve been lucky to work with some incredible brides who have a strong social presence, but just as often, I’m curating content for couples who are simply passionate about storytelling and want their day captured with intention. What matters most to me is the connection. I naturally gravitate toward brides who are warm, down-to-earth, and fully in love with their person; that energy always shows up on camera and makes the entire day that much more special.

The Girl’s Girl Content Co.

I think the title “content creator” can be misleading and often seems more influencer or celebrity-focused, when that’s actually not the case at all. The majority of our couples are ‘regular’, everyday people who simply want to capture their memories in another medium—one that feels tangible and casual.

Why should nearlyweds consider hiring a wedding content creator in addition to a photographer/videographer?

Cupid Content Co.

Photographers and videographers create beautiful, heirloom-quality work—but there’s a third perspective that often gets missed: the candid, unfiltered, behind-the-scenes story of the day. That’s where we come in. Content creators capture everything from the big moments to the in-between ones—the happy tears, the outfit changes, the little jokes with your bridesmaids. And we deliver it all within 24 hours so couples don’t have to wait weeks or months to relive it. It’s not about replacing your photographer or videographer—it’s about complementing them and filling in the gaps with a more personal, modern lens.

How do you decide on the type of content you’re going to capture? Do couples typically tell you specific content ideas they have in mind, or do you help brainstorm and plan concepts?

Cupid Content Co.

It’s a mix of both. Some of our couples come to us with a clear vision, Pinterest boards, and content inspiration already in mind. Others just want to be hands-off and trust us to do our thing. Either way, we always hop on a content planning call before the wedding to get a feel for who they are, what moments matter most to them, and how they want the day to feel. From there, we tailor everything to reflect their energy and love story—whether that means quick edits for Instagram or more emotional, cinematic reels to watch back privately. Getting to know our couples on a personal level and truly understanding them and their day is a huge part of our process, and allows us to create content that feels bespoke and tailored to each couple.

The Social Club

My couples fill out a pre-wedding questionnaire; then we hop on a planning call to talk through inspo, vision, and their timeline. Some brides come with super clear ideas, others lean on me to help shape what their day could look like from a content lens. Either way, the goal is to capture moments that feel true to them.

The Girl’s Girl Content Co.

We approach every wedding day the same way: with the goal of capturing candid and organic memories. At the same time, we always keep in mind that no two wedding days are exactly alike. Our hope is to create content that reflects each couple’s unique day—emulating the feelings and emotions they experienced—rather than making every wedding gallery look and feel the same. We always have a pre-planning meeting with our couples before the big day to go over details, key moments, and personal preferences.

What can clients do to help make your job go as smoothly as possible?

Cupid Content Co.

One of the most impactful things couples and their planners can do is build a wedding timeline that feels intentional. When the day has breathing room—moments of stillness, margin between events, time for connection—that’s when the magic really happens. It’s in those in-between moments where the most meaningful content often lives: a quiet touch, a spontaneous laugh, a glance exchanged when no one else is looking. When a couple creates a day that feels intentional and true to them, it allows us to capture everything authentically and artistically. Of course, clear communication beforehand also helps—sharing your priorities, sensitivities, and key people ensures we can document what matters most with care and intention.

At what point in the wedding planning process do you get looped in?

The Social Club

Usually right after booking! Once we’re locked in, I always ask for an intro to the planner so I can stay looped in on any changes or details that might impact our team. Sometimes we’re booked over a year in advance, and other times it’s a last-minute thing (shoutout to our Type B brides; love you forever). Either way, we make it work seamlessly.

The Girl’s Girl Content Co.

It seems that we have been getting involved earlier and earlier in the wedding planning process, but with this being said, we believe it is very personal. It’s important to inquire early and book the vendors who are most important to you while they are still available. I would say the sweet spot for content creation tends to be 6-8 months before the big day, though we do have some bookings made a year in advance. Nothing makes us sadder than having to turn couples away!

How much content can clients typically expect to receive and what’s the typical turnaround time?

The Social Club

On average, couples can expect around 100 assets per hour, about 80% video and 20% photo. That can vary depending on the pace of the day, but we always set clear expectations. All raw content is delivered within 24 hours, and edited reels are typically sent within 72 hours (though we’re often faster because we just get too excited to share!).

People are always surprised by how fast our turnaround is. Like, we tell them, but they’re still shocked when it hits their inbox the next day. It makes such a difference to be able to relive those moments right away, especially while the couple is still in the post-wedding haze and recapping the day with their friends and family.

What wedding content trends are you seeing so far this summer?

The Social Club

Truthfully, I stay away from trends unless a bride is absolutely in love with one. We love capturing organic, intentional, and emotional content, the little moments that often go unnoticed. But, we definitely love a good, trending audio!

The Girl’s Girl Content Co.

We’re seeing lots of content trends this summer, but a few that stand out to us are carousel posts featuring both photos and videos, fun and upbeat edits, and content that highlights bridal and guest fashion, as well as the overall guest experience.

What is the most memorable wedding moment that you’ve captured?

Cupid Content Co.

There are so many, but one that will always stay with me was a wedding in Puerto Vallarta last year. On the morning of the wedding, the bride took a quiet moment by the ocean to write her vows alone. As she was writing, a family of whales started breaching just offshore. It felt completely surreal—like a sign from the universe or a loved one watching over her. It was peaceful, emotional, and completely unscripted. Moments like that remind me why this job is so meaningful—because we get to preserve the real, fleeting magic that can’t be planned.

The Social Club

It was my first wedding ever as The Social Club; I was so nervous going into the day, although I had many weddings I've captured at this point, this one hit differently because it was MY brand, MY name. The photographer (@daniicajoy) and I were up on the balcony, capturing the bride and her girls below. I knew at this point that I did it; I started this company from nothing and was going to do whatever I could to make it successful. I knew in that moment, TSC would bring so much joy to our couples around the world for a long time to come <3.

The Girl’s Girl Content Co.

This is an impossible question because we have truly captured SO many memorable moments! But one fun memory that stands out to us was when one of our couples surprised their guests with a fireworks show!
