Introducing The Gem Collection in Support of The Trevor Project

HOLDEN News

Holden is a wedding ring company for all couples. As part of our commitment to celebrating love, we donate 1% of sales (with a minimum annual donation of $50,000) to The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people.

According to a recent survey, 45% of LGBTQ young people seriously considered suicide in the past year, including more than half of transgender and nonbinary youth and 1 in 3 cisgender youth. However, LGBTQ young people who had access to spaces that affirmed their sexual orientation and gender identity reported lower rates of attempting suicide.

We chose to partner with Trevor because this organization provides LGBTQ young people with the resources they need to feel the love and support we see our LGBTQ couples celebrate at their weddings. We love working with Trevor year round and are so happy to be connected to such an incredible life-saving organization.

HOLDEN Gem Collection in Support of The Trevor Project

This year, we decided to amplify our partnership with The Trevor Project by releasing a dedicated gemstone collection benefitting Trevor. The Flush Gem and The Gem Royal Flush are made with lab-grown gemstones and recycled precious metals. Choose a color that you feel represents you, celebrate the gem that you are, and wear your support of The Trevor Project with pride: $50 of every purchase will go directly to the organization. Pick a single color that you feel connected to or create a custom stack to mix and match the colors you love! While we are launching this collection during Pride Month, it will live permanently on our site and our donation structure will remain the same year round.

We hired three fantastic LGBTQ models for our shoot, which took place in an airy Brooklyn studio. We asked each model to pick a gemstone color that they felt best represented them, which would then be theirs to keep after the shoot. Molly (they/them) chose blue, Demetries (he/him) chose orange, and Mucho (he/him) chose red.

We were also lucky to work with the talented LGBTQ filmmaker Ellie Gravitte (she/her) for this campaign. In addition to being the photoshoot’s unofficial DJ, Ellie directed, filmed, and edited individual interviews with each model. We are thrilled that we have footage to memorialize and share our fun day on set!
