We've rounded up our favorite songs about jewelry, rings, and diamonds to make your soundtrack sweet. There are a few surprises and twists in this list, but we think they're pretty justified. Check it out, and if you have any songs you want to add, feel free to shoot us an email at help@hiholden.com.
1. Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend by Marilyn Monroe
A slightly problematic tune, perhaps, but we love Marilyn Monroe. It’s one of the most iconic songs about diamonds, and by the way diamonds can be anyone's best friend. Learn about Gentlemen Prefer Blondes in our post, 10 Movies Where Jewelry Stole the Show.
2. Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac
Two words: Stevie. Nicks. It's a song about gold performed by a woman with a voice of gold. It’s one of the most memorable songs about gold, capturing both emotion and radiance. What more do you need?
3. Primadonna by MARINA
Ok so this isn't technically a song about diamonds, but the artist MARINA used to call herself Marina and the Diamonds, so we're counting it.
4. Diamonds Are Forever by Shirley Bassey
Diamonds are the world's hardest material, so they literally are forever. A James Bond movie theme song that's also educational? Yes please! This iconic track is also one of the most well-known songs about diamonds, celebrated for its glamour and timeless appeal.
5. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) by Beyoncé
If you listen carefully, Beyoncé says "If you like it, then you should have put a HOLDEN ring on it." Kidding! This song is flawless (and so is the Beyoncé song "Flawless"). Absolutely one of the all-time great songs about rings.
6. Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes by Paul Simon
Sounds kinda uncomfortable to have diamonds on the soles of your shoes, since (as we mentioned) diamonds are extremely hard. An excellent song, nonetheless.
7. Diamonds and Pearls by Prince
This is a pretty deep cut Prince song that I wasn't familiar with before this project, but I love Prince and now I love this song, too. A lesser-known but beautiful entry in the songs about jewelry genre. Prince does not miss.
8. Gold Digger by Kanye West
Whatever your Kanye take is, this song is huge. I mean, so huge that they did a (kinda cringey) cover of it on Glee.
9. Ring My Bell by Anita Ward
Yes, technically, this is not a song about rings, but ring is in the title, so we're counting it.
10. Diamonds by Rihanna
Iconic. Where is the new album, Rihanna??? We only wanted to pick one song per artist for this list, but "We Found Love" is an honorary mention, because Rihanna sings about yellow diamonds. It’s one of the most recognizable songs about diamonds, blending emotion with sparkle. If you want to learn more about colored diamonds, check out our post on lab grown diamonds.
11. Bananaphone by Raffi
Again, a stretch, but Raffi says "ring" so many times in this song, he earned a spot on our list.
12. Diamond Heart by Lady Gaga
Joanne is an underrated Lady Gaga album, and I will absolutely stand on this hill until the day I die. I. Love. This. Song.
13. Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash
Again, ring of fire, ring, you get it. Insider tip: if you are a guitar beginner, this is a great song to start with (speaking from experience).
14. Gold by Kiiara
This was the song of the summer in 2016. I loved it then, I love it now, and I will love it forever.
15. Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds by The Beatles
This song is not about Lucy or the sky or diamonds (Google what it's about if you're curious!), but it's a classic.
16. 7 rings by Ariana Grande
This song is about buying yourself a ring (or seven) if that's what you feel like doing. Just to put it out there, our rings work great as "just because" rings, and they're stackable! Are we legally allowed to suggest that they could perhaps be Ariana approved? Probably not, so we won't!
17. Diamond Dogs by David Bowie
Similar to the Prince song, I actually hadn't heard this song until working on this post. Bonus Bowie!
18. Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond
Also not about diamonds or jewelry, but Neil Diamond deserves to be on this list.
19. Heart of Gold by Neil Young
Another song by another Neil, this song is an all-time great. Classic entry in the songs about gold category. This one is timeless.
20. 24k Magic by Bruno Mars
We love this song. THAT BEING SAID, we think it's our responsibility as a jewelry company to inform you that any piece of jewelry made with 24 karat gold will be too soft to wear without worrying about scratching it. We wrote an article about karat if you'd like to learn more.
BONUS: Take Me Out to the Ballgame by...the seventh inning stretch at a baseball game!
Speaking of stretches, we know this one is a stretch. But, since this is a summer-themed playlist, and baseball is the sport of the summer (and I'm a massive Dodgers fan), we figured we'd include it. Baseball diamonds are where baseball is played, and we thought we should include it for that reason. Also, did I mention I love baseball?
So there you have it! 20 songs (plus a bonus!) about diamonds, gold, jewelry, and rings to add to your summer playlist.

FAQs
1. Are there any songs that mention jewelry in general?
Definitely. Songs about rings and jewelry include “Diamonds and Pearls” by Prince and “Diamond Heart” by Lady Gaga. Many artists use jewelry as a symbol of wealth, love, or individuality.
2. Why do so many songs mention rings and diamonds and there are even songs about gold?
Rings and diamonds often represent love, commitment, or luxury in music. They're powerful symbols—especially in love songs and pop culture anthems—which is why they're so common in lyrics.
3. Can I suggest a song for your jewelry playlist?
Yes, we’d love that! If you have a favorite song about diamonds, golds, or jewelries, email us at help@hiholden.com. We’re always adding new gems to the list.
