Rings aren’t exclusive to any particular gender, so you don’t have to identify as a man to take inspiration from the men on this list! At Holden, all of our rings are designed to be completely gender-neutral and can be customized to suit your style.
In general, we’ve found that there really are no rules when it comes to rings for men (or anyone)! This is especially true for those in the LGBTQ+ community, who have had to make their own engagement and marriage traditions since legalization in the United States.
Remember that solid bands and eternity rings can be engagement rings, and solitaires and signets can function as wedding bands. It’s all about going for the style you love best and ignoring the stereotypes that don’t resonate with you!
1. Colton Haynes
In 2017, floral designer Jeff Leatham proposed to the Teen Wolf star with a pretty spectacular eternity-style diamond ring and a Cher serenade (as one does). Two months later, Haynes returned the favor and proposed back to Leatham with an identical ring.
Unfortunately, the pair split in 2018, but we remain obsessed with their impeccable taste in jewelry and pop icon special appearances.
2. Michael Bublé
The Canadian vocalist was spotted wearing a plain, white gold band shortly after getting engaged to Argentinian actress Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre in 2009. Bublé reportedly told his concert crowds at the time that men’s engagement rings were a common Argentinian tradition.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find much on the history of men’s engagement rings in Argentina, but we still think it’s pretty cool that a male celebrity like Bublé was one of the first public men to openly sport one!
3. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
We love The Rock’s chunky solid gold wedding band with pavé-set diamonds along the edges. Shortly after his wedding to Lauren Hashian in 2019, the wrestler and actor also told WSJ Magazine he was planning to get two more rings to symbolize his commitment to his wife: one made from a bull’s horn and one made from a T-Rex bone.
While we can’t formally endorse these unconventional materials since we only work with recycled precious metals like solid gold and platinum, we can fully support ring stacking for men!
4. Ed Sheeran
In 2018, the singer-songwriter was seen wearing a ring on his left hand not long after his engagement to Cherry Seaborn, sparking rumors about a potential secret marriage. Sheeran addressed the speculation on a British talk show, Lorraine, stating: “I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings. It’s the same commitment either way.”
He went on to explain that Cherry made his ring herself out of silver clay. How sweet is that?!
5. Ben Platt
In 2022, the multihyphenate and Dear Evan Hansen star proposed to the other Dear Evan Hansen star, Noah Glavin. The perfect ring? A yellow gold signet-style featuring a baguette center stone flanked by two blue sapphires.
In 2023, Noah proposed back to Ben with his ring’s inverse: a signet-style with a sapphire center stone and two baguette diamonds on either side. If you’re in the market for something similar, you’ll want to check out this bespoke ring design we made!
6. Chris Hemsworth
The Thor actor’s wedding ring is a wide platinum band with square-shaped black gems set around the exterior. He’s been known to pair it with a handful of other rings and likes to switch them up fairly often. A king with many rings…we LOVE to see it.
7. Jonathan Bennett
The Mean Girls star got engaged to fellow actor Jaymes Vaughn in 2022 with matching custom engagement slash wedding rings. The wide white gold bands have 0.5 ct of diamonds pavé-set on one side of the profile so they could be flipped during the ceremony, symbolizing the transition from fiancés to spouses.

8. Nick Jonas
Priyanka Chopra gave the third Jonas Brother an 18k yellow gold ring by Chopard for their 2018 nuptials. Its square shape is a bit more contemporary than classic domed men’s wedding rings, which we’ve found to be super popular among Millennial and Gen Z couples.
9. Lance Bass
Bass proposed twice to now-husband Michael Turchin, first in 2013 and again a year later. For the second proposal, the ‘90s boy bander opted for a pair of matching bands with black channel-set stones. I guess you could say their rings are totally ‘NSYNC! (Sorry, couldn’t help ourselves.)
10. Brooklyn Beckham
The son of David and Victoria married actress Nicola Peltz in 2022 and was spotted wearing a chunky diamond band paired with a simple, solid band shortly after. We can’t say for sure if the rings are meant to be an engagement ring and/or wedding band, but we can say that we adore the combo!
11. Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds tied the knot with Blake Lively back in 2012 and has been wearing a wide gold band on his left ring finger ever since. Though it’s hard to see in photos, his ring appears to be slightly textured, adding a hint of uniqueness to its otherwise understated appearance.
12. Jeremy O Harris
You may recognize Harris from his Gossip Girl reboot or Emily in Paris cameos, but the playwright is best known for the Tony-nominated Slave Play. He got engaged back in 2022 with an Arvand Khosravi ring featuring a round diamond stone surrounded by onyx and sapphires, as well as a personalized inscription by fellow playwright Adrienne Kennedy.

13. Tom Daley
The Olympic diver got engaged to the Milk screenwriter in 2015 months after moving into their London home. The two chose to match with minimal, white gold bands set with a single baguette diamond, quite similar to our Flush Baguette.
14. Neil Patrick Harris
NPH and David Burtka have been married for almost 10 years now, and they’ve been wearing matching silver-colored bands since their “I dos.” They’re in good company, too: George Clooney and wife Amal also wear matching, classic wedding bands in platinum, though George’s is slightly wider.
15. Zac Posen
The fashion designer got engaged to ballet dancer, choreographer, and actor Harrison Ball in 2022. Posen’s ring is a silver-colored domed band with a black stripe in the center from W. Hamond, while Ball’s is a complementary custom-designed silver ring with a black center stone by TAFFIN.
16. Lukas Gage
The White Lotus actor married celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton in April 2023 with matching 8mm bands similar to our Flush Baguette ring. Sadly, their whirlwind romance ended later that year, but we still think they have excellent taste in rings.
